The Halifax Ministerium is an ecumenical ministerium. Pastor's meet representing the local churches
of the Halifax area at Lenny Dennies Restaurant the fourth Tuesday of every month at 11:00 AM.
The purpose and mission of the Ministerium is to build healthy relationships among fellow Christians
and to work together providing ministeries that reach out and serve our community with the Gospel
message of Jesus Christ.
An important ministry of the Ministerium is the Halifax Release Time Program. This important ministry
is a religious educational program sponsored by the Ministerium, and has been offered for 40 years.
It is available to all 4th and 5th grade students of the Halifax Elementart School.
The purpose is to teach the Christian faith through song, verse, prayer, and classroom lesson time.
The program includes an end of year retreat.
Other ministries supported by the Halifax Ministerium are the annual Crop Walk through Church World Services,
Free Bag Lunches for kids, and the Lenten and Easter Dawn Service exchange.
The Halifax Senior Center is open at the Valleys on Monday through Thursday - 8:30 AM to Noon. The seniors
meet in Valleys Multipurpose room and share in numerous activies such as fellowship, bible study, games, etc.
The Senior Center will host daily the Halifax Meals on Wheels for local shutins.
A Pinochle Card Party is held at the Halifax Senoir Center on the third Wednesday of every month from Noon to 3:00 PM.
Girl Scouting was founded by Juliette Gordan Low in 1912 and it aims to empower girls with courage, confidence,
and good character to make the world a better place. Every Girl Scout shares the motto to Be Prepared.
Their slogan is to Do a Good Turn Daily.
The Valleys hosts a total of six Girl Scout Troops and you will find them hard at work on any given night
of the week making crafts, baking cookies, earning badges, and doing many other things.
Local churches in the Upper Dauphin Halifax area gather together at local churches to play Dart Ball - all in good fun.
