In 2022 Pastor Dave Guertin accepted a position in Connecticut as a Chaplin at a nursing home. Valleys is starting a search team for his replacement with help from our conference superintendent. Pastor Dave Guertin began his ministry with the Valleys in 2016. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary in 2004 and was ordained with the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2008. Dave has served in multiple ministries including Youth Director, a Chaplain at Mayo Clinic, and solo Pastor at a Covenant church in Wisconsin prior to moving to Halifax. Dave's call is "knowing Jesus...and making him known." He believes, "the Word of God is the anchor from which everything in the life of the church finds direction, identity, and mission. The Word, being God breathed, has to be at the center of our self understanding. The church as a fellowship of believers means that we are called by Christ, into fellowship with one another in order to fulfill Christ's purposes for his church in the world."
"I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can seperate us from God's love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can do that. Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can do that. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God's love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done."
(Romans 8:38-39)
